This European ash tree stood along the Road of Science in Utrecht for more than 45 years. Here she witnessed everything that happened between Galgenwaard Stadium and the Uithof in Utrecht. And a lot happened there in those 45 years!
FC-Utrecht matches, laughing students, canoeing Utrecht residents, day trippers and constructed metro lines. Utrecht was in motion, while this Es grew quietly and moved with all the winds.
The Es stood there in harsh winters, cheerful springs, wet summers, and dry autumn days. She lost her leaves 45 times, but also grew back her foliage 45 times. She enjoyed standing there and grew into a large, mighty tree.
Unfortunately it had to be cut down. But luckily we were able to prevent her from ending up in the shredder! We gave her a final destination.
The time has come to look back, look ahead and toast to life!
